Current Office:
Councilman Don Parsons, Sr., was elected to the City Council on February 3, 2009 after a special election was held. He is a life long resident of Fernley both growing up here and raising his three grown children here - all attending the local elementary school, middle school, high school.
Don's background includes teaching high school in Northern Nevada, a long time local contractor and project superintendent. Don also served on the Fernley Town Board for six years and on the Incorporation Committee that established Fernley as a city in 2001.
Don and his wife, Sherry, have been married for 41 years and have 9 grandchildren.

Additionally, Don has been active in many Fernley community projects and programs, i.e., volunteered time and services to help move the Fernley Depot to its current location, fundraising for the Fernley Pool site improvements (garden, pond, landscaping) in 1999. |
