Responsibilities

The Parks Department maintains

• All weather tennis courts
• Rodeo Arena at out of Town Park
• Three pavilions
• Football, soccer, baseball and softball fields
• Picnic areas
• Retention ponds
• Open space

The Department also operates and maintains the City Hall Facilities, Vector Control, Animal Care & Control, Neighborhood Watch and Adopt-A-Park & Garden programs.

Maintenance

The City of Fernley Parks Department manages over 500 acres of City-owned property. In addition to 10 parks there are hundreds of acres of undeveloped open space for enjoyment, future park expansion, and flood control.

Sports fields, restrooms, and playgrounds abound throughout the park system.

Availability

The park season for the availability of restrooms, drinking fountains, rental of open-air pavilions and general day-to-day operating conveniences runs year around.

As spring unfolds, water is turned on in the larger parks first and the smaller parks follow.
