Special Election, U.S. House of Representatives District 2
Election Day: Tuesday, September 13
City Hall will be open for early voting starting Saturday, August 27th at 10:00am until 2:00pm. Voters registered in Lyon County will also be able to vote during regular business hours Monday-Thursday 8:00am to 6:00pm, except holidays for two weeks proceeding the election. Election Day polls will be open at
FERNLEY HIGH SCHOOL from 7:00am to 7:00pm.

City Elections
City elections are held every even year with the County and federal elections. The next general election is November 6, 2012.
The Office of the Mayor did not appear on the General Election ballot. Mayor LeRoy Goodman received over 51% of the votes cast in his bid for re-election during the primary election. This secured his position as the Mayor of the City of Fernley for four more years.

Voter Registration Forms
Voter Registration forms are available in the City Clerk's Office, the Fernley Justice Court, Department of Motor Vehicles Offices, or from the Lyon County Clerk / Treasurer's Office in Yerington. Registration forms can be completed and dropped off at the City Clerk's Office in Fernley. Otherwise forms must be mailed or delivered to:

Eligibility
To register to vote in Lyon County a person must meet the following requirements:
- Actually, physically, and legally reside in Lyon County
- Be a United States citizen
- Have attained the age of 18 years old by election day
- Provide official identification as proof of residence and identity, such as a driver’s license or other official document
- Provide social security number, Nevada driver’s license number, or Nevada identification card number
Any person who has been convicted of a felony and has not had their civil rights restored, or has been legally declared as insane or mentally incompetent, is not entitled to register to vote.
