2020 GENERAL ELECTION
All active registered voters in Nevada will be sent a ballot in the mail for the general election. Voters do not need to request an absentee ballot.
If you choose to vote using the ballot that was mailed to you, you can simply mark the ballot and use the postage paid envelope and mail it back to Lyon County. You may also drop your completed ballot off at City Hall, 595 Silver Lace Blvd, Fernley, during Early Voting and on Election Day. See times and dates below.
All voters will have the option of voting in person, either during early voting or on Election Day, if they choose not to vote by mail. Early voting begins on Saturday, October 17 and runs through Thursday, October 29. Voters who wish to vote in person are highly encouraged to vote early. Masks and social distancing are required.
Lyon County voters can vote anywhere in the county during early voting and on election day.
ALL VOTING FOR THE 2020 GENERAL ELECTION WILL BE HELD AT FERNLEY CITY HALL.
Early Voting schedule
Saturdays 10am – 2pm
Weekdays 8am – 5pm
Election Day is November 3rd 7am – 7pm

Same-day registration is available during Early Voting and on Election Day, ONLY at Lyon County Clerk.
You can register to vote online at the Nevada Secretary of State Election Center. Voter Registration forms are available in the City Clerk’s Office, the Fernley Justice Court, Department of Motor Vehicles Offices, or the Lyon County Clerk / Treasurer’s Office in Yerington. Registration forms can be completed and dropped off at the City Clerk’s Office (by October 6, 2020) in Fernley or mailed (postmarked by October 6, 2020) to:

Eligibility
To register to vote in Lyon County a person must meet the following requirements:
- Actually, physically, and legally reside in Lyon County
- Be a United States citizen
- Have attained the age of 18 years old by election day
- Provide official identification as proof of residence and identity, such as a driver’s license or other official document
- Provide social security number, Nevada driver’s license number, or Nevada identification card number
