On Monday, June 13, 2022 the Fernley Convention & Tourism Authority Board awarded six grants to local organizations for events and projects that will promote tourism to Fernley.

Mandatory Grant Applicant Meeting
The City of Fernley held a mandatory meeting on Thursday, May 5, 2022 for applicants planning to apply for Round 1 of Fiscal Year 2022-2023 FCTA Grant opportunity. This is for projects or events on or between July 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022. If you plan to apply for the grant but was not able to attend the mandatory meeting, please contact ahomme@cityoffernley.org or call 775-784-9858.
The mandatory grant applicants meeting for Round 2 of Fiscal Year 2022-2023 will be held in November 2022. Please stay tuned for date of the meeting.

February 8, 2021 - The Fernley Convention and Tourism Authority (FCTA) Board convened to update the FCTA Grant Guidelines, By-laws, and FCTA municipal code.
Updated FCTA Grant Guidelines
The FCTA Grant Guidelines were adopted by City Council March 17, 2010 by Resolution #10-008. The guidelines were modified by Council July 20, 2011 by Resolution #11-008. Resolution #11-008 allows staff to revise the grant application, underwriting agreement, evaluation form, and request for reimbursement forms without City Council approval.
On February 8, 2021, the FCTA Board met to revise the Grant Guidelines. The Grant Guidelines were revised to clarify the purpose and goal of the grant, outline the grant provisions, and clearly to establish matching funds requirement for for-profit organizations. The revised Grant Guidelines go into effect for project and events in FY2021-22. Click here to view the revised FCTA Grant Guidelines.
Revised FCTA By-Laws
The FCTA By-Laws was created in 2010 then revised in 2011, to regulate the Board. It establishes the following:
- The Board
- Membership of the Board
- Officers and Responsibilities
- Meetings
- Meeting and Event Visitations
- Amendments of By-Laws
On February 8, 2021, the Board approved removing a part of Article II, Section 3 Compensation that members shall receive no compensation regardless of prior administrative approval. Click here to view the revised FCTA By-Laws.
