Animal Control


As of Tuesday, June 2, 2020 -  the Animal Control Department will assume regular business hours and responsibilities. City Hall is open to the public during normal business hours. Everyone entering City Hall must adhere to strict social distancing protocols and face masks are required for all individuals entering the building. The Animal Control Dept encourages customers to conduct business by telephone and electronic means. 

If you lose a pet or find a stray animal, please contact Animal Control immediately at 775-784-9801 and file either a Lost or Found Report and provide a photograph to the Officer. City of Fernley Animal Control has a separate Facebook page that can be found at:

The Department of Animal Control promotes and protects public safety and animal care through education and animal law enforcement.The City of Fernley does not house animals. All impounded animals are transported to the Lyon County Animal Shelter, Silver Springs, NV.
