The City of Fernley is eligible to receive project funding through the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant (C.D.B.G) program. These funds are channeled through the Nevada Commission on Economic Development. Over $2.6 million dollars are available for 2008.
A public meeting will be held on Thurs., December 16th at 3:30 p.m. at City Hall in Council Chambers, 595 Silver Lace Boulevard.
Citizens, community groups, non-profits, and others are encouraged and invited to make presentations and suggest proposed projects for the City's application. This meeting will outline the parameters for potential projects, and will allow participants to discuss prioritization. The results will be presented by public hearing at the Fernley City Council meeting on December 16th at 6 p.m.
If a citizen is unable to attend the meeting on December 16th, a meeting can be scheduled with City staff.
Potential applications from the public must be submitted to the City of Fernley Community Development Department on or before Wednesday, December 12 at 5 p.m. for consideration by City Council. The City’s application(s) to the Nevada Commission on Economic Development is due on or before January 15, 2008.
